The Lakeland Choral Society Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce that this year’s High School Vocal Scholarship is being awarded to Ronald Spoto, a Lakeland resident and Honor Society Member at Harrison School for the Arts graduating with a 4.4+ GPA. Ronald has appeared in many theatrical productions and concerts with Harrison School for the Arts, Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, Lakeland Community Theatre, and the Imperial Symphony Orchestra, as well as singing with the Worship and Praise Band at Lakeland’s First United Methodist Church.
A well-rounded performer, Mr. Spoto has received Broadway Star of the Future awards for both Outstanding Lead and Outstanding Dancer in a Musical from the Stratz Center, as well as winning the Dr. Phillips Center’s Applause Award for Outstanding Lead in a Musical. He was selected for Penn State University’s Musical Theatre Summer Intensive “S.T.AT.E.” and was also chosen to perform in the Imperial Symphony Orchestra’s concert version of West Side Story. Ronald plans to attend Penn State University to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre. We wish him the very best in all of his future endeavors. |
